René Kempenaar

Large floor mozaik, 6 meters in diameter. Comissioned by the city of Almere,in honour of the late René Kempenaar, a respected an loved man who spend a big part of his live as a social worker, especially for the local youth. As well he was known as a skilled martial arts trainer. In fact,as so may great examples, these 2 things merged beautifully together. I hope this piece will express these characteristics and honour his legacy in the public space of Almere. Actually the mozaik is already realised. It was made in one day with the help of 120 volunteers! It will be placed later this year.
