Tilburg Noord United

Comissioned public artwork for the "problematic" neighbourhood Tilburg Noord, in Tilburg a city in the south of Holland. In order to question the "problematic" stigma and to emphasize the more positive aspects, a local garbage man was tattooed with a L.A. gangstyle tattoo. Instead of some really problematic neighborhood name in e.g. South Central L.A. he has "Tilburg Noord united" written over his belly.It does not only places the troubles in a different daylight if u compare it to an L.A. ghetto but it is also a deed of pride, proud to be from Tilburg Noord! The piece, a 7 by 3 meter wide glass mozaik panel was made by the people living in that neighbourhood.
